Wow - the possibilities with Karen Burniston's Sizzix "Pop'n Cuts" dies are amazing!
We were sooooo fortunate to have Karen visit our store and showcase her wonderful Sizzix dies and share her creative ideas with us. Karen kicked off her weekend at Simple Pleasures with an eClips demo. She showed how she used the eCal software to create images of your own, welding, grouping and the Tim Holtz Stamp2Cut cartridges.
How about a make'n take featuring the Sizzix 3D EvergreenTree pop-up die? So cute and so easy to create. Karen added the Basic Grey "Happy Holidays" message on inside of the card and added a bit of bling with Elizabeth Craft red glitter dots, and a ribbon bow on the treetop as a final touch.
Here's another Evergreen Tree die cut and put on a card.
Here's a beautiful card, created by Els of Elizabeth Craft Designs. The card features Karen's Silverware die. The silverware was die cut and embossed with Elizabeth Craft DesignSilver Shimmer Sheetz. Isn't it lovely?!?
Now, how about some Pop'n Cuts Cards? Pop'n Cuts cards are A2 sized cards, that feature a "pop out" component when you open the card. The main element of all of the Sizzix Pop'n Cuts cards is the card base die.

The base die creates a score at the center of each card, and comes with a pop-out component. Shown here are six of the different pop-out components available.

The truly great thing about the card base die is that Karen designed it to be simple AND interactive. Simply switch out the inner pop out component from the base die with any of the many others Karen has designed, for many other types of 3D pop out cards!! There are more than 12 different pop outs that are available for the base die ....
AND
Karen has designed lots of additional accent to to accessorize your cards, inside and out!! Class attendees LOVED the cards they created in class ...
eight different Pop'n Cuts cards. Here they are - aren't they FUN?!?
The Halloween card incorporates the Tim Holtz Mover and Shaper pumpkin die and the Deena Bigz Picket Fence die.
Where did the cute dinosaur come from? Well, from the eClips "Boy and Girl" cartridge! Ready for more Pop'n Cut card inspiration? Here we go .....
Are you likeing what you see ......
Mix'n match a variety of Sizzix dies with the Pop'n Cuts dies and the possibilities are endless. How about these ....
See the wreath next to to Karen's Sizzix lamppost die on the Joy card? That wreath is made from the Holly leaves on a Tim Holtz die. LOVE IT!!! We're having a hard time reigning ourselves in - so here are several more Pop'n Cut card ideas for you, showing you first the outside of each card and then the WHAM, BAM - a Pop'n Cut card interior! Betterr than a two-pound box of chocolates ... Really! So many great new die cutting tools and goodies have just arrived - A Jillian Vance Design (AJV) stamps and dies .... Spellbinder makes the A Jillian Vance Design dies, so you KNOW how great they are!
In the upper righthand corner, just below the zipper die, is the pocket die ---- we've got ideas coming you way with those, to be sure!!
Here are a couple of card samples that were on display at the recent tradeshow that enticed us to order these yummy dies and stamps. The very, very nice thing about their stamps and dies is they have created lots of great sentiments and components to work with the dies - for a braod range of occasions or "Just Because".
This "Say Cheese" Card incorporates the classic Polaroid die frames as well as camera and message stamps... And the Wedding Wishes Card uses exquisite label, cross and poinsettia dies and also incorporates a wonderful stamped cross background and sentiments that are perfectly matched in size to the label die at the center of the cross. We've got lots of ideas coming your way with the new AJV goodies. As a matter of fact, you can hop on over to the blog post in our Tips, Techniques and Tutorials section for the how-to's on Shelby's Gift Card Wallet featuring the AJV Zipper die and coordinating stamps - a truly interactive experience! Lots of new Sizzix arrivals, too, for our die cutting and embossing fun. Reminder: Our Sizzix dies and Embossing Folders are Buy One, Get One HALF PRICE every single day!!

And more fun additions from Sizzix are "Frames & Fun" by Stephanie Barnard - frames and flourish dies with coordinating stamps packaged together for "No Brainer" creative possibilities!
(There are several more, but here is a "taste" for you) There are also 4 new Framelits nesting dies from Sizzix - great basics to have in your die cutting arsenal. But that's NOT ALL .... remember, I said it was BETTER than a two-pound box of chocolates. And as we all know, one of the sweetest things about a two-pound box of chocolates is the VARIETY that surprises us with each chocolate we taste-test!! So, without further adieu, we are thrilled to let you "taste-test", so to speak, our newest arrival in the die cutting tool family at Simple Pleasures. The eBosser
What exactly is the eBosser?
It's the new, fully automatic and large format embossing AND die cutting system. It's universally compatible with most cutting dies and embossing folders. It easily cuts or embosses materials up to 8.5 inches wide and 11.7 inches in lenghth, too! just click on the link we've provided and you'll see Shelby in action with the eBosser in our very first Simple Pleasures You Tube Video Tutorial!! Shelby takes the ebosser thru some paces with dies from Cheery Lynn, a Sizzix Bigz die, embosses with an embossing folder and more. NO CALORIES eBosser Taste Test via our You Tube Video Tutorial on the eBosser! (While you're there, be sure to subscribe so you'll get upcoming You Tube tutorials as they are released) http://youtu.be/ZIvFMaKMXFQ Not sure you really "need" the eBosser just yet? No Worries - we have a great new accessory item for you to use with the die cutting system you may already have and use and use and use. It's the Lifestyle Crafts Genius Ultimate Magnetic Platform System. And the ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL THING about this system is that it is a basically universal system. Use it in you Big Shot, Vagabond, Cuttlebug, Epic or Evolution machine, whichever workhorse machine you have!
The kit comes with a MAGNETIC platform and includes two mats, one for embossing and one for cutting. The cutting mat is new and improved, longer-lasting with less curling. As a bonus, the kit includes a set of 10 nested dies (NOT the circles shown above, but a set of 10 nested labels with a $24.99 value). Pretty Yummy, Hummmm ....... and No Calories either! So that's our update for the week on the exciting NEW die cutting tools and accessories we have received. Now, time to get back to some paper crafting fun. What should I do first, try out those new AJV stamps and dies, or play with the magnetic platform a bit - oh, wait, I can do both at the same time!! Happy Crafting! |

We've received a wonderful shipment from Impression Obsession of stamps and dies .... yes, Impression Obsession is now making dies! Jacque and Shelby, two of our talented Design Team contributors, have been creating with the new arrivals, so prepare to be inspired by these cards! Shelby used Liquid Pearls as centers of the Maya Rose rosettes on this card - what a great touch!
And how about this cute card - great for Copic coloring ... We love die cutting - and stamping, so what could be better than Impression Obsession dies and stamps that quite literally are "made for each other"? In many cases, you can choose between rubber cling stamps or wood mounted - which both coordinate with the low profile dies we have come to love! These dies are great to work with. These dies are manufactured by the same company that makes Cheery Lynn dies and Memory Box dies, so there are NO WORRIES about these dies!
Here's a closeup of Shelby's New Home card. I love the plaid background she used; it is one of Simple Stories "Baby Steps" papers.
And look at what Jacque did with the house die .... there really is "No Place Like Home"
And how about that cute bird, and the bird nest? You guessed it, stamps with matching dies make is so quick and easy to create with.
"Hang in There" is the name of this next pair of birds, Shelby used on the "We've Moved" card. And there are LOTS of sentiments stamps that will go nicely with this pair also. There's "Best Friends", "Have a Beautiful Day", "I like Hanging Out with you" and several more.
Impression Obsession has always been know for their wonderfully detailed, almost "sketched" images. We love the Classic Truck stamp Jacque used on these cards, and as usual, they have thought of everything. There is even a stamp that says "You're a Classic"!
This is just a taste of the new Impression Obsession arrivals at the store.
We hope you'll stop in to see more of their tantalizing goodies! |

Have you had a chance to explore the possibilities with the Sizzix "Flip-it" dies?
Six different card dies in all, each creating a square card, complete with score fold lines and cutouts that flip over for viewing from both sides of the card. There are additional dies that coordinate for easy accents on the cards.
As you'll see on the card samples we have for you, there are two score lines built into each die, making the cards easy to fold and filt into square envelopes. And we have some beautiful, shimmery soiree envelopes from Memory Box that you can use with these cards.
We suggest you use the Sizzix Premium Crease Pad instead of the top clear cutting pad for best results with the Flip-it dies.
How about some card ideas with these fun dies? Gretchen and Lynne, two of our amazingly talented Design Team contributors, have created some lovely cards to share with us. The Heart Flip-it die is featured in this card; isn't it cute?! And upon closer look, you can see the wonderful accent stitching Gretchen added on the borders and on the heart itself. Little Yellow Bicycle "Lollipop Stripe with glitter" and Bo Bunny "Pink Punch Double Dot Flourish" papers were used on this card, along with a Just Rite stamp "Thank You" message on the heart. This "Smile" card shows us the Square Flip-it die in use, but changed up a bit with the card opening "Top to Bottom" rather than side to side. Nice variation, don't you think?
We know that it can be a bit more challenging to create cards for the males in our lives, so it's time for a masculine card idea! This card uses the Diamond Flip-it card die, and Lynne used some Bo Bunny "Weekend Market" papers and Just Rite stamps on this card.
Here's another look at Lynne's card, in the upright position!
Time for some circle fun now - with this elegant card featuring Little Yellow Bicycle "Swoon" papers and cardstock sticker sentiments and embellishments.
Here's a view at the "Flip Side" of this Circle Flip-it card ....
OK, you've now seen 4 of the 6 different Flip-it card dies, so let's see some more great card ideas with the other 2 dies.
We can never get enough of flowers, so here we go with Lynne's Flower Flip-it card.

Here's a closer look at Lynne's card and her use of the Maya Road zipper and a button for the flower center. Bella Blvd papers, Just Rite "Just for You" message and teeny tiny flower embellishments add to the fun.
And how about this cute card from Sizzix with the Fancy Frame Flip-it card die? Did you know, the Framelits nested fancy frames dies work great with this Flip-it card die, too!!

Our final card in this parade of cards is another masculine card idea.
Gretchen used the Diamond Flip-it card die, in another sideways card presentation. Love the use of HEARTS on this "guy" card .... it works!! Reminisce "Compass" paper, Maya Road burlap trim, Just Rite stamped message and some embellies for that added touch.

Here's another view of this card so you can see the flip side ...
Surprise, another sentiment is revealed!
We hope we've gotten your creative juices flowing with ideas using these fun dies. Email us YOUR Flip-it card creations to
