Scrapbooking those special times with the special people in our lives is a wonderful to preserve those memories.
Our store anniversary is always a very special time for us, so it was an overwhelming surprise to receive this album that Cathy's mom made to commemorate Simple Pleasures 18th Anniversary Celebration. A side note - Mom "says" she doesn't scrapbook, so we refer to her as a "closet scrapbooker"!
So here it is. We want to share this very special album with you - look closely, you may just see yourself in one of the photos!
Mom used the Memory Box/Poppystamp
Madison House die set for the rooflines and windows on the album.
She recreated the styling of the door and windows and took a picture, which she miniturized, of the Simple Pleasures sign to duplicate the actual building.
Actual photos were also miniturized to show the "view" as you look into each of the windows.
I spy someone in the window .... really!! Here's a closer view looking in the windows.
This is the inside front cover of our 18th Anniversary Album.
Staffers Becky and Angie in the left photo and shopping fun in the right photo. A Memory Box die cut accents the page.
We had a make'n take on Friday, the first day of our three day anniversary celebration.
The pic below, left side, is Shelby hosting one station with the eBosser where everyone die cut our exclusive Memory Box Rose stamp and die set. Then an acetate pillow box got embossed on the eBosser, too! In the photo on the right side, Mom is hosting part two of the make'n take where Copic markers were used to color in the stamped, die cut rose.
Here's a close up of our Memory Box Exclusive Rose Set as it was being put through its paces!
This is the cutey patootie project ....
Shopping fun captured in the album here, even the guys turn out for the festivities.
In addition to shopping, we have drawings throughout the three-day anniversary celebration.
So, in prep for the barrage of drawings, we place numbers on the tile floor all over the entire store ....... sometimes we find a stray number or two on the floor months later!!!
Looks like Becky is helping Mary Kay out in picture below.
What is REALLY amazing is how mom was able to take so many photos during the event -
as she was sneaking to take them in between helping on the sales floor, hosting make'n takes, and taking care of the staff.
Below is Suzanne, helping a customer on the phone. Things were so crazy, noisy, fun that we had to plug our other ear to try to lessen the din in order to hear.
Another random pic - still lovin' the Memory Box accent dies Mom used throughout the album.
Els, from Elizabeth Craft Designs, demo'd her dies, glitters, shimmer sheetz and stickers for the entire day on Saturday. It was definitely one of the highlights of the weekend ... Thanks, Els!
There was always a crowd around Els - she had so many great ideas to share.
Here's Marianne holding down the fort behind the register.
Check out time at the register ...
Whew - that takes us thru Day 2 of our three day celebration, so by now it was time for some time for sustenance ... we needed FOOD!
Dessert was an absolute MUST - after all, we would need lots of energy for our final day of the anniversary celebration!
One of the most heartwarming and special things about our anniversary event is getting to share it with you, our friends and customers -
without whom we would not be here.
Shelby had soooooo much info to share with everyone as she demo'd the eBosser throughout the day.
Shelby embossed acetate and chipboard, die cut intricate dies as she showed the eBosser magnetic shim, used the 8 1/2 x 11 eBosser embossing folders and lots, lots more.
Thanks, Shelby!
We had two make'n take projects on Sunday, the final day of our anniversary event.
Here's Cathy's mom in action hosting a Memory Box project with our exclusive Memory Box Daisy set and the Memory Box Pocket Tag die.
And here's the cute project everyone got to make!
The second make n take we had on Sunday was this card that Caron did with an Impression Obsession cover-a-card background stamp and butterfly die.
Thanks, Caron.
Back to the album.
We had so many activities going on in the store on the final celebration day, BC, our rep from Artistic Paper, hosted his demo with the eBosser into our classroom for anyone interested - such a cool die cutting machine!
Thanks, BC!
Mom finished off the commemorative album with a couple of "behind the scenes" photos of us preparing to ship our exclusive Memory Box Rose and Daisy sets.
To date, we have shipped these special sets across the US, including Alaska and Hawaii. Not to mention international shipments to Canada, Sweden, France, the UK, the Netherlands, Autralia and New Zealand.
A very special "Thanks" to Dave Brethauer and the entire Memory Box team for creating these exclusive sets to commemorate our 18th Anniversary!
Hope you enjoyed this recap of our anniversary, through Mom's album, even if you weren't here to enjoy it in person with us.
We are ever so thankful to be a part of the papercrafting community and consider it a privilege to be part of your crafting journeys and thank YOU for supporting this local, non-chain store.
Without you, we would not be here.
Thanks, Mom, for the gift of this wonderful album - and for your loving support. You're the Best!!! |
