"White Elephant" - December Featured Card Showcase

Hello, 2012!

Is your tree put away? The lights down and boxed up? Well, if you’re feeling a bit nostalgic for December, I have a little treat for you!

Our last Simple Pleasures’ Card Club Exchange was themed “White Elephant” and the participants decided what theme they would design their cards around. This was an “Anything Goes!” challenge!

The participants could have used cards they had already started, ones they had wanted to do, or just made up something on the spot. According to our participants most of them finished up cards they had started, but didn’t have time to finish earlier in the year.

I’m always amazed by the variety of designs and techniques used.  (Did you miss our 2011 Card Club Exchange Round Up post? Lots of card inspiration there…did you see your card?) You’ll have to stop by the store to see the cards!

The Featured Card for December by Deb P. is a classy looking card. Check it out for yourself! 

You can’t go wrong using a Memory Box stamp or two, right? A layer or two of gorgeous shimmery Soiree doesn’t hurt either! Add a die cut leaf and a few pearls and you’ve got yourself a pretty little card!

We are officially on our way to the first Simple Pleasures’ Card Club Exchange of the Year! I’m so excited to see what YOU will create for this year’s swaps.

Our first theme of 2012 is “Birthday Bonanza!” Perfect timing, wouldn’t you say? Join us in this swap and you’ll be set for a few of those upcoming birthdays…

The beauty of this theme is you get to choose how to celebrate the birthday…will it be a feminine or masculine card? Funny or endearing? Cute or vintage? Decisions, decisions…

Whatever you decide to do, make sure to have your 10 cards with 10 recipes (1 for each card, please!) in a Ziploc-type baggie with your name on it to Simple Pleasures before close of business (that’s 6pm) on Saturday, January 21^st.

Don’t forget…if you’re mailing, please be sure to send your cards in plenty of time.
