Whew! The holidays are almost over and hopefully you are taking some time for yourself to relax and remember this past year. With that in mind I wanted to share some fun from our 2011 Card Club Exchange.
Every month we suggested a theme and only one card could be chosen to be our Featured Card for that month – that meant there were several cards you didn’t see, if you didn’t stop by the store and admire the board.
Well, we don’t have room here on the blog to show every card, but we are going to share interesting bits and pieces that may show examples of techniques or elements with a little bit of pretty paper eye candy!
In the above picture you’ll find lots of layers, ultra fine glitter, 3D flowers, Rock Candy Crackle paint, embossing – heat and dry, die cuts, even cork!
More die cuts and layering, Copic coloring, stamping on vellum, raffia, torn edges, gorgeous coloring using pencils and new ways to use ribbon…
What was your favorite theme? One of my favorite themes was “Tag – You’re It!” and the creative way the participants put that theme to use on their cards. Little tags, big tags, tag shape cut outs, and of course there is more layering, Copics, sewing, punched pieces and even Iris Folding…
I have really enjoyed making and receiving my cards and am looking forward to 2012’s Card Club Exchanges!
If you’re the type that likes to plan ahead or just likes to know what’s coming up, here are a few important details of the upcoming Card Club:
In addition to the monthly suggested themes, there will also be optional card challenges throughout the year. Watch the blog for upcoming posts containing details or stop by the store and pick up the new schedule.
Please allow plenty of time for transit, if you are mailing your cards to us. All cards must be received by close of business on the 3rd Saturday of the month.
Don’t forget to follow the guidelines and include one recipe for each card – we all want to know what you used!
Stop by the store to see this past year’s cards – we have 3 albums worth of cards to inspire! – and to pick up 2012’s Card Club themes and schedules.
Until then, keep creating - we’ll see you soon!
